Turn The Room On With His Smile.
So one of my cousins just moved into a new house, as you may remember, and she is not sure if she wants to get cable or not. In the meantime, we have loaned her some movies - (she took Center Stage which she has apparently seen before and is a big fan of! Who knew there was another dance-geek in the family?) - and a whole slew of TV shows. She started with Sliders and moved through it in a week, putting it on while she puttered around getting her house in order. She also took Millennium but decided to hold off on that as she wants something light-hearted to have on while she is doing house-things right now. When she came over this weekend, we also gave her Hustle, Leverage, and 21 Jump Street. She reported back today that she absolutely LOVES ‘Hustle’. As one should.

Me: Well, it is awesome.
Sis: It’s almost like you would enjoy them taking your money.
Me: It’s like if Mickey Bricks just smiles at you, you would gladly give him everything you have.
Then we both made inappropriate noises over Mickey Bricks. I really need to get series two & three of that show.

In SPN news, my sister and I had this conversation during the first five minutes of the season premiere, while Dean was walking down the road…

Me: Wow. Nobody can wear a pair of pants quite like Dean.
Sis: Way to wear those pants, Dean!
We know why we watch the show, dammit!

Yeah, alright, I really just made this post to use my Danny Blue icon and to make you all think about Mickey Bricks and his awesome smile. I did watch a creepy movie with that actor, Adrian Lester, this week - (looking stellar as usual) - and though it starts out kind of slow, it got increasingly nerve-wracking as it went. Case 39 - which is about a demon-child and is less ‘make you jump’-scary and more just screaming at the TV, “Omg, kill her! Burn her! Just quick, kill her!” A good movie if you can handle watching Renee Zellweger. It also has Ian McShane as a cop and the girl playing the demon-child was also the girl from the SPN episode Provenance, which that little girl was one of only like two things in SPN that ever freaked me out. Hey, look, I tied Hustle and SPN together in this post quite nicely.

That is all.

Renee Zellweger, VOMIT.

That is all.

Wait, no, not really all - I wrote an SpN episode commentary last night, go me! Also, that movie sounds fun except for RZ. And finally, I still need to see the horror movie with John Winchester as the dad. (how sad that I can't remember his name. oh, wait, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, right? god, I'm brainless right now.)

I know, me too. Even the few movies of hers that I have enjoyed have been in spite of her, not because of her. She was whatever in this movie - it was the girl that was scary and Ian McShane that was awesome. (And Bradley Cooper and Adrian Lester).

I saw but I can't read it yet. We don't get around to watching until Sunday usually. Can you imagine a show that we used to have to watch in Real Time, now we don't get around to watching it until five days after it airs? I'm gonna read your reaction post, but I am thinking of just skipping any other ones that pop on my Flist (far fewer than there used to be at least) because I am starting to think I will stand a better chance of enjoying season 8 if I just watch it as a show and not part of a fandom-experience, if that makes sense. Except of course for writing fic, that doesn't count.

And finally, I still need to see the horror movie with John Winchester as the dad. (how sad that I can't remember his name. oh, wait, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, right? god, I'm brainless right now.)

LOL If you can't remember Jeffrey Dean Morgan, there is a problem in your brain! Possession was the movie and I still highly recommend it. It was scary and awesome and sexy. (it was really just sexy because JDM wore jeans!)

So do you have Supernatural Sunday now, with SpN and TWD both? That's pretty awesome. Oh, wait, no, you said TWD is a Monday show now.

Yeah, I was VERY tired when I wrote that comment. Wait, doesn't JDM ALWAYS wear jeans? :P

Dinnertime shows I watch with my sister...
Sunday - SPN
Monday - TWD
Tuesday - Hoarders
Wednesday - Revolution
Thursday - South Park
Friday - Arrow
Plus, you know, The Daily Show Tues-Friday

Wait, doesn't JDM ALWAYS wear jeans? :P

LOL Sometimes stupid people try to put him in dress pants or slacks or corduroys. We want JEANS! And these jeans in the scary movie? Really. Nice. Jeans.

Nice.

Right now, I'm all:
Sun - TWD
Mon - DWTS
Tues - DWTS results show
Wed - Supernatural
Thurs - Glee (when it's not pre-empted by football, damn you, Fox, this is what you did to Firefly, motherfuckers) and Elementary
Fri - nothing in particular
Sat - Dr. Who when it's running, otherwise nothing in particular

Oh, that's right, he was on that Gray's Anatomy... thing. Which I have never seen more than five minutes of, so it doesn't really exist.

I have some things I watch while I eat my breakfast some days (perks of being unemployed) but that's our evening lineup.

Thurs - Glee (when it's not pre-empted by football, damn you, Fox, this is what you did to Firefly, motherfuckers) and Elementary

Ugh, I hate that. We are a Big Ten basketball area here, always in the playoffs and those fucking MSU basketball games used to make it so The West Wing didn't come on until like midnight. And they wouldn't even just pull the episodes, because West Wing would air fine anywhere that wasn't a college-area of a championship basketball team - nope, they'd just push it until the game was over, and the post coverage was over and the coverage of the riots afterwards were over. It's been ten years and I still get pissy every time anyone mentions MSU basketball. lol

Oh, that's right, he was on that Gray's Anatomy... thing. Which I have never seen more than five minutes of, so it doesn't really exist.

Hahahaha, he was. I hate that show with a bloody passion. But JDM is in our Tivo lineup so anything he does - guest stars, movies, talk shows - we manage to grab it. We did catch his Grey's eps and fast-forwarded just to watch him. The only episode worth catching was the one where he was a ghost. (nope, not even kidding, a ghost). We also get most of his movies through Netflix. I like him A LOT, okay. /blushes/

Have you ever seen his CSI episode appearance? It was like the best 2 minutes of hotness ever. Especially when he pulls out his gun from his hip. Mmmmmmm. Here, I found it for you. Two minutes of heaven.

Don't imagine for a second that I consider Glee in the same league as Firefly, but COME ON, FOX! (Though it seems as though Glee has stopped for football season. Whatevs.)

I don't think I ever saw that episode, so thanks for sharing the gun porn!

Is anything in a league with Firefly? Didn't think so. ;)

Not a damned thing. And yet, Tony and Pepper are beating Wash and Zoe....

I adore Ian McShane. Looking for Case 39 right now.

I adore Ian McShane. Looking for Case 39 right now.

I found Ian particularly attractive in this movie. He played a police detective and he was all scruffy but clean (unlike so many of his roles, lol) and his voice was all gruff and awesome and he kicks in a door and gets in a fight and yeah...it was good. The movie starts a little slow on the horror side but it definitely picks up.

I watched it through streaming on Netflix, if that helps. Enjoy!

Case 39
Found it on Amazon Prime. I'll watch it sometime this weekend.

Re: Case 39
Hope you enjoyed it! I had to cover my face during the hornet scene with Bradley Cooper - did you?

Re: Case 39
I did! My first thought was that Dean Winchester would've ganked her ass in the first twenty minutes.

You just wanted to use my favorite icon of Jensen's crotch to reply to this post, didn't you? I counter you with Chad Michael Murray's crotch!

Oh, Hustle, I've always wanted to watch that show. I've been told it's Leverage only far superior in terms of story and acting.

Amen sister!! The Boy and I had to rewind at least once to watch those bow legs going down the road! :P

Okay, that's what I thought when Leverage first premiered. In fact, I refused to watch Leverage for years because I thought it was trying to be Hustle. But now I realize a more valid comparision for Leverage is The A-Team, only better, because it's 2012 not the 1980s. lol

Hustle is closer to Ocean's 11. If that gives you an idea of what Hustle is. The plots are more believable, as are the cons. Also, the Hustle peeps are criminials committing crimes for personal gain. Though I do love Hustle and Leverage for the characters. And both Hustle and Leverage have that 'family we make' theme that I love, but I think comparing them to each other is not representing each show accurately. I just wish someone had told me that years ago, so I would have watched Leverage sooner!

I think you would love Hustle! It's fast-paced and witty and makes you want to take up a life of crime. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner for you!

Amen sister!! The Boy and I had to rewind at least once to watch those bow legs going down the road! :P

Omg, Dean's legs were SO bowlegged in that scene too, weren't they? lol Looks damn good on him though.
ranuaranua on October 30th, 2012 11:09 am (UTC)
Leverage is The A-Team,. . . . Hustle is closer to Ocean's 11. lol! I like that comparison bb. I love the Ocean's 11 movies, especially the original with the Rat Pack. I'll have to try harder to hunt down the show cos it certainly sounds like something I will adore.

Laughing so hard right now! It's true, though. Those pants looked GOOD on him. As do most things, really.

heehee Glad to have made you laugh, darling!

Seriously, the man looks good in jeans and slacks and those hospital pajama scrubs he had to wear in that season 2 episode. He looks good in EVERYTHING! And let's not forget the coveted boxer-brief underwear shot! Mmmmmmmmmm. Bunk.

He really, really does. Using icon in honor of his hot scrubs episode. Because DAMN, he looked good in those.
