The Age-Old Question Has Been Answered!
Who would win in a fight - Gandalf the Grey or Magneto?

Gandalf The Grey!! Ian McKellan says so. In fact, what he actually said was this…"Gandalf is more powerful than Magneto. He wins every time. The old guy will do it every time. He's 7,000 years old. He knows it all!"

Thank you, Stephen Colbert, for being our ambassador and seeking an answer to this question. I guess that is one less question for us geeks to fight over. Back to the never-ending question of Thor vs. Hulk.

Speaking of geekery, I just finished watching last week’s episode of Comic Book Men and Stan Lee came to the store to do a charity photo shoot. The boys were all a’twitter. But okay, so he talks a bit with them about comics and he says one of his favorite Spiderman moments is when Captain Stacy is dying and Spiderman is there with him, trying to save him but he can’t, and in his dying breath, Captain Stacy says, “Tale care of Gwen, Peter,” and Peter realizes that Captain Stacy has known all along that he was Spiderman.

I broke out in head-to-toe goosebumps to hear the legend himself describing that scene and then promptly started crying. I don’t even care, because it was Stan Fucking Lee discussing Spiderman, okay! Peter Parker was my first love and he'll always own a piece of my heart and that is all because of Stan Lee. Then I called The Nephew and told him how the guy who created Spiderman was just on a TV show saying that the police chief always knew that Spiderman was actually Peter Parker. Like he knew the whole time! The Nephew said, “What?! No way! That’s crazy! I can’t even believe that!” My boy.

In non-geekery news, my dad’s surgery went well and I wanted to say ’thank you’ for all your good wishes! They had some trouble waking him up afterwards, but later he seemed much more coherent than he had the last time. After the last one, he was cussing and throwing things at the nurses and my sister had to go spend the next day with him just to keep him calm. He was in good spirits this time, thankfully. I refrained from posting until now because he was having issues with his oxygen levels dropping quite low and they sent him for an X-ray and you know I am superstitious to say that everything was good and then have that backfire on me. I don’t like to jinx things! He said today that his levels were going back up and they think it was just a prolonged result of the anesthetic. He is out of the surgery ward and into a rehab ward and everything seems good all around!

Now off to work on The BFF’s fic! I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel here, you guys!

Thank you! Dad seems to be doing a little better each day and his recovery actually seems to be progressing faster than last time. Who knows, he may be home in time for Christmas!
