This Is A Fairly Random Post.
So, Law & Order: SVU is on tomorrow night and I am not sure I am going to watch it. It guest stars Mike Tyson, which I think is in really bad taste actually. Apparently there has been some backlash about it and instead of pulling it, they just moved the episode up a week - (it was suppose to air next week). I get that he served his time and wants to remake his image, but seriously…on SVU? Come on, there are hundreds of shows on TV and if he wants to be an actor, he could go be on any of those shows - (I actually was going to suggest they could have him on any of the other Law & Orders, only to realize SVU is the only one still on the air). It just seems like a really tacky publicity ploy on the part of the producers of SVU to cast him and it just feels wrong to me. So I thought maybe I wouldn’t watch it. Except I really want my SVU! Ugh, having a morale stand on things is hard.

I was going to talk about more TV, but I have been utterly wrecked all day. I have been flushed and had a stomach ache and just feeling kind of worn down. So I did something I haven’t done in a very long while - I spent the whole day on the couch watching a House marathon. Including an episode where House & Wilson buy a condo together and then proceed to have a game of gay chicken that results in Wilson proposing to House in a public restaurant - (to which I say, 'Good play, Wilson!')

For Buffy fans, or sci-fi/genre fans in general - sadly Robin Sachs (aka Ethan Rayne) has passed away. Giles never had such a good friend/enemy/lover that he had in Ethan and Robin’s amazing character work on all the genre TV will be sorely missed. Article here.

But here is a little something for Buffy fans that will make you smile - shirebound took this picture the other day and I think she was either photographing Joss Whedon’s license plate or else she just found the biggest Buffy fan in the world. Because this is genius.

And now I am going to crawl back into bed and finish the day long House marathon, because I am just that cool.

I love that pic. It would almost be worth owning a car to have that license plate.

Hope you are feeling better soon, dear.

I wish I had been that clever when I owned a car. If that car owner ever trades that license plate in for any reason, they should save it and get Whedon to sign it!

Hope you are feeling better soon, dear.

Thank you. I was feeling better for a minute there. Now I'm feeling worse again. I just hate winter, mostly.

Awww, your icon makes me feel better!

I was feeling better but now I have a sore throat/cough that is kicking my ass. It's just been a long winter here.

It sucks that you felt so icky yesterday - I hope you're much better today, that it was just a one-day thing!

That's sad news about Robin Sachs - you know, I never saw him in anything but Buffy, I think.

Fantastic license plate - thank you for sharing her photo!

Well, as we just talked this afternoon, you know I am still not better. Well, technically I am better from whatever that was, but now I have other problems. Since this afternoon, a cough has kicked in to go with the sore throat. It all blows and not in the fun way.

That's sad news about Robin Sachs - you know, I never saw him in anything but Buffy, I think.

He's pretty well known for his role on Babylon 5, but I never did watch that. I think the first thing I ever saw him in was as the bad alien in Galaxy Quest. Also, if I remember correctly, he was the douchehole in Jurassic Park #2 (it's the Jurassic Park that I have watched the least which still means I have seen it an unhealthy number of times). Either way, he will be missed. (I'll tell you though, the headline read 'Buffy actor dies at age 61' and my heart nearly stopped thinking it was Anthony Head).

Fantastic license plate - thank you for sharing her photo!

I knew you'd love that!

Ohhh, hon; that SUCKS. It's the worst when you move from one sickness to another with no break in-between.

He was on Babylon 5? I love that show! Who the heck was he? Wait, nm, you said you never watched it. IMDB, Hooooooo! :P

I would have wept if it had been Tony Head. Seriously, wept.

You are the smart one.

I hope you feel better today.

Thank you. I felt much better the next day, after a good night's rest, but then my sister started coughing terribly and now I seem to have caught whatever that is. Hopefully mine will clear up faster than hers. /fingers crossed/ It's just a long winter here, my friend.

I love SVU, but having him in an ep? Kind of iffy about that, but I'll probably watch it and just feel bad about it.

Sad news, I loved Ethan's character.

I hope you feel better soon. I love that ep of House. I've been re-watching the second to last series, I miss that show.

Rest lots and get well!!

It seems really tacky and in bad tastes, to say the very least, about having Mike Tyson on SVU. Apparently the petition that was going around was from abuse/assualt survivors who say that the reason they love SVU is because it is about helping the victim, getting justice for the victim, and to put Tyson on the show that helps them heal in a way is just an insult to them. I have to agree. In the end, I didn't watch the episode because I tried to imagine being able to enjoy an hour of watching that man on my TV, being able to even take him seriously as the character he was portraying, and I just decided I wouldn't enjoy it. So I caught an episode of Subguratory instead, which I rarely get to watch since the two shows conflict with each other.

Sad news, I loved Ethan's character.

Me too. I always thought there was more to Ethan and Giles' past than we knew. ;) He'll be missed in the genre world and the rest of the world as well.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you. I felt better and now I am sick again. I swear, it's this long grey winter kicking my ass.

I love that ep of House. I've been re-watching the second to last series, I miss that show.

I was just freaking out when Wilson got down on one knee for House! It was such a good play against House's little games! I actually never watched House until this last year when I started catching it in reruns and really became addicted. Now that I have an IPad and can stream Netflix through there, I think I may start watching in bed at night, from the very beginning. Speaking of, there is a marathon on again today, so that's what I'll be watching while I put my laundry away. :)

In the end I couldn't bring myself to watch it either, it just didn't sit right with me at all. I've been assaulted in the past, nothing to serious, but enough that it can be a pretty touchy subject for me and I just don't feel comfortable with the idea of him being in that show, seems like a very insensitive move on the shows part, when normally they handle things so well.

This winter has kicked my ass as well, I know how you feel there, bring on the nicer weather.

I've liked House from the beggining, but I missed a few seasons, getting caught uphas been great, it's a facinating show and I love the relationship between House and Wilson, best game of Gay chicken ever.

That Ipad sounds very handy. I've been reading my kindle a lot in bed at night, I think an Ipad would lead me to zero sleep and I already have insomnia

I'm sorry to hear that. I always think with the life I lead back in my younger days that I am lucky nothing serious happened to me. And it did seem very insensitive for the SVU powers-that-be to put Mike Tyson on their show. It seemed like a publicity stunt and that really turned my stomach. The chick who plays Benson is a spokesperson for a non-profit for women who have been sexual assualted and apparently she never even spoke to Tyson except during the scenes they had together, so it sounds like even the cast was uncool with it.

Me too. My sister can't stand Dr. House, but I find him so fascinating and I love the layers they subtly reveal of him. Plus, Wilson is kind of messed up too but he hides it better and I think they really are great for each other in an odd way.

I think an Ipad would lead me to zero sleep and I already have insomnia

The first week I was so excited about it that I kept taking it to bed and it messed up my ability to 'unwind' and fall asleep pretty bad. Now, if I do take it to bed, I make myself turn it off after an hour. I watch Craig Ferguson's monoluge every night and I make myself turn off the IPad for that, so that I can use that half hour to start relaxing towards sleep. I learned that one the hard way though.

edited for typos which I blame on all the sneezing

I had it much easier than a lot of other women. I'm kind of glad to here that the cast seem like they weren't on board with this stunt.

I agree that Wilson is very much messed up in his own ways, but hides a lot of it, apart from House who sees through him. I think they are both complicated characters.

I suck at unwinding at the best of times, so anything that grabs my attention can be bad, but reading settles me down sometimes.

Don't worry about typos, I would never have published those ebooks with out a beta.

I hope the sneezing doesn't last and you feel better soon
