Uteruses Before Duderuses.
So, I haven’t told you all about my Christmas or my week with The Nephew or anything, but let’s just work our way backwards and start with a post about New Years! It was quite nice. My sister was actually home for New Years Eve, but went to bed early, so me and The BFF just stayed up all night, talking. I know we watched something, but other than the Arrow midseason finale - (Thea!! Holy shit!) - I can’t remember what it is was. We watched the ball drop for like one minute at midnight and then went back to talking! lol

Sis left early the next morning for New York and The BFF and I spent the day vegging, stuffing our faces and watching Parks & Recreation. She’d seen it before and then made my sister watch it all and now I want to watch it all too. We made it almost all the way to the end of S2 by the time the weekend was over. We have all come to the conclusion that my sister is Leslie and The BFF is Ben and I am a weird combo of Andy & April - (D always said I had the opposite-twin-personality of a true Gemini). Also, Tom Haverford? That’s my man!! Though, if I couldn’t bag Tom, I’d settle for Ron, but that may just be my attraction to Nick Offerman talking.

On Friday we played with The BFF’s new game, Firefly Yahtzee, which is basically regular Yahtzee but with Chinese numerals on the dice and your roller cup is actually Serenity! I mostly used Serenity to fly around and do Wash quotes. Then I had PT, so afterwards we took The BFF’s gift card and went to Applebee’s. I had the salmon and it was delicious! We spent the time there plotting out The BFF’s newest fic and fangirling all over the place. There was a dude at the next table who looked exactly like Christian Kane in another 15 years. It was freaking me out. Then I freaked out more about how it’s been like a year and Christian and Steve still aren’t talking to each other and I am so heartbroken, omg. The BFF was very indulging of the whole thing, even though she couldn't give a crap. This is why she is the best - she doesn’t even care about Chris & Steve, but I do, so she lets me freak out whenever I need too!

We also caught up on The Flash and…say it with me, ‘What Is Up With Harrison Wells?!’ (actually I have a theory on that, so if you want to talk about the yellow and red streaks and Barry’s mom, etc, drop it in my comment section below!) Saturday we just vegged with more Parks & Recs and also The BFF helped me do some stuff online that I had been wanting to do. (another post on that at a later date). The Sis came home that evening and in the morning The BFF went home and I caught up on comments and got organized for the week ahead.

A most excellent New Years. Just me and my best fangirl, chilling. Ovaries before brovaries, yo!

Isn't The Flash the best? I have a lot of ideas combined with what I know about DC comics, I suspect time travel shenanigans. Oh and the fic I wrote for you, I think that might be a first bit and more to come later. Though before I do that, I really should rewatch the entire season since the way I saw the second episode was really slow. ITunes will probably be where I snag it since we have an AppleTV so I could watch it on the big screen.

I think its one of those series that hits me in that great place of found family and the joy of curiosity and research. It makes me happy how much Barry goes, oh wait, that's what's going on.

Me too. I think the yellow streak was Harrison Wells that night and the red streak was Barry, traveled back in time to try to stop Harrison from killing his mom. And perhaps Harrison killed Barry's mom to make sure he would stay on the path to being The Flash in the first place. Def sure Harrison can time travel though. And Barry's mom was mixed up with something too, I just don't know what.

Excellent! I am psyched you are writing Flash fic now! I have all the episodes in our recycle bin, in case J changes her mind and wants to start watching it, I can just pull them out. So if you want to rewatch any while you are here.

Have you been watching The Librarians at all? I haven't started it yet, have those saved up to watch as well.

That's what drew me in. Every single moment between Barry and Joe has me flailing. (and not just because I love Jesse L Martin to death!) Did the you see Christmas ep? The end really hit me in the feels as far as found family, with everyone gathered together and all.

I was also wondering, when you come, if you could help me with a little project. I want to do a sort of pseudo rpg game for The Nephew. Something basic, just to kind give him a feel for it, see if he is into that sort of thing. I have a plot already, involving a dragon and a wizard, but I haven't played an rpg since high school at least, so maybe we could work on it together? I mean, he's 8, it doesn't have to be stellar, and I don't want it to be a long game at all, just a test run to catch his attention. Maybe we could just kind of talk it through a bit and you could refresh my memory on some things?

Yay for rewatching that sounds great. No, I haven't seen The Librarians, I want to but no live tv, not as many chances for seeing new shows.

Oh that would be fun and I'm glad to help. A lot of it will be about figuring out how complicated to have things and how to make sense of combat.

Your girl power phrases are awkward and hard to say. :) (I like "sisters before misters," myself).

Erm... who is Steve?

I'm so glad you had such a good NYE!

LOL There is a Galentine's episode of Parks N Rec where on Feb 13 all the ladies ditch their men and grab breakfast together and these are some of the sayings Leslie Knope spins out during their girls' breakfast. Also 'Hoes Before Bros'. She says them a lot to her bff too. I love them - their so catchy! Ovaries before brovaries!

Erm... who is Steve?

Steve Carlson. (see my icon) I will now school you. When Christian Kane was first in LA, he was a good singer and not really a good guitar player. He met this awesome guitar player named Steve, who helped him learn the guitar better and they started writing songs together and then they formed a band and then Steve was the lead guitarist in Kane. If you watch videos of them onstage, often they will be like, 'We are going to play X song now' and then Christian will be like, "Wait, how does it go?" and Steve will come over and actually reteach him the song right there on stage real quick. I guess Christian has to work harder at the guitar stuff. They are adorable together, literally once onstage Christian sucked on Steve's ear, IDEK. There is a lot of slash about them in the Kane RPS fandom. I only discovered them because Steve performed at a SPN con once and my then-bff got us all tickets as a thank you for bringing her along and we didn't know who he was but we went to the concert and omg, I fell madly in love. Like, you know I have a finger kink and watching a man play the guitar can really up that kink and Steve has great fingers and was doing dirty things with his guitar. I have a thing for this man, hard. I actually got into Christian Kane through being into Steve, mostly. Anyways, rumor has it that they had a major falling out and though I don't traverse those waters so much these days, it looks like they are still on the outs. (or it's all just rumors, whatever). The end.

I'm so glad you had such a good NYE!

I did! Did you? Have we talked about this yet? I can't remember.

I feel much more educated now! (It is sad when friends have a falling out.)

We talked about Christmas, but not really NYE. Ours was quiet, and spent in the DC area with TAH(tm)'s brother and wife. Their seven-year-old tried desperately to stay up for the ball drop (heh, I said ball drop), but she failed. We watched a movie, chit-chatted, and had sparkling cider at midnight when we put on the NYE stuff for a little bit. I think this makes us officially old? I don't care, though, because it was great!

Awwwww.

(heh, I said ball drop),

Ball drop high-five!

That's pretty much how mine went and it was great! Why do we need to go to a party or whatever? I could barely sit up by 10, what would I do out and about at midnight!

I'm happy to go to NYE parties... at my own house so I don't have to drive! And can get to bed almost immediately after midnight!

Ball drop high-five! - um. Did you just offer to rub testicles with me? Because, no. :P

Wait, what? Why aren't Steve and Chris talking to each other? What did I miss?

That sounds like a great weekend.

I meant to get back to you about Yonderland -- it is seriously difficult to describe. It is a goofy fantasy about a suburban housewife who is convinced by an elf to follow him back to Yonderland (accessible through her pantry) where she is told by a council of incompetent elders that she is the "chosen one" and will save them all. But they don't know how.

It is funny and silly and I just love it. And I don't know why, but this just kills me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLT0V9KWqCM They are like singing tribbles - I want to squish them.

IDK, I saw it like months ago. I haven't been around that fandom as much, but...it looks like right before Steve's wedding they had a falling out. My understanding is that Steve got married in a small ceremony in Jensen's backyard and Chris was NOT there. (which obvs fueled rumors further) I don't follow twitter anymore, but everyone* has been saying - *like 3 people - that they don't tweet at each other anymore. Is that true? Do you follow them at all? I know back when I followed them (even though I'm not on twitter at all, lol) there was a lot of back and forth between them and Danneel, like 'Hey I lost my purple sweatshirt?' - 'Oh, yeah it's in my car, can I leave it at Steve's for you?' 'Dont' forget the bbq, bring beer!' - whatever. And now no chatter at all, so the rumor goes. Though they did perform together in Oct with Life of Riley, right? Idk - here is this post. The others are way farther back or I saw them somewhere else, can't find them now. IDEK, you know how the rumors go. You're more up on this stuff - if you haven't heard anything, then maybe it's not true. (Hopefully. Of course the slash community wants to think they had a falling out because Steve got married. It'd be sad if that were true though)

That sounds like a great weekend.

It was! How was your New Years?

Okay, Yonderland looks and sounds ADORABLE! I def want to watch that!
