TV Talk!!!
Let's talk TV!! Just a few random thoughts I have on a slew of shows I watch…

Supernatural: I will spare you all my thoughts on the season overall - let me just say that I would watch an entire run of episodes based around Levi!Winchesters. The only major plot story I have ever had for Sam/Dean pairing was an idea about what if supernatural stuff weren't real and John was just a crazy militia guy and the brothers grew up to be like bank robbing/murdering/incestuous lovers. (Okay, yes, that’s the inside of my brain right there). And then it basically came to life on my TV and those crazy Levi!boys were so much fun to watch, I could do it for days. So, less of what they have been doing...more of crazy-murdering-fun. I am worried about what this says about me.

Also, could Bobby please, please just get it on with Sheriff Mills, please? I ship them so hard and that is weird for me to say because I used to be such a Bobby/Ellen shipper back in the day - (I was sure it was going to be canon for awhile there). But now I want Bobby to get some Sheriff-action. Okay, let’s be honest - I just want Bobby to get it on with EVERYONE - including me. That's right, I said it and I'll stand by it - I am in love with Bobby Singer. And he needs some lovin’!

Hawaii Five-0: I was so disappointed in how much they pimped out Kensi coming to the island from NCIS:LA because her scenes lasted like two minutes. Boo that. She wasn't even on screen with Kono. My little femslash heart is broken. And this week - Lori does not get to call Danny "Danno"! (It took quite awhile for the "Danno" thing to grow on me, but now that it has - the only person who gets to call him that is Steve!) And then whatever with the bad trick or treating - Danny would have found the best neighborhood for Gracie to go trick-or-treating in, not his sleazy hotel. Now I want fic where Steve takes her trick-or-treating the next day in his neighborhood and when people are all, "Yesterday was Halloween," then she is all, "Yesterday Uncle Steve had to solve a homicide. Today I get candy."

The best thing of all? Danny called Chin "BABE" and Chin was all stupid smile at him and it was awesome!!!

NCIS:LA: Nell and Eric were adorable in their uniforms!! Awwwww. You know what made up for Kensi's all-too-brief appearance on H5-0? KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!! KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!! I am not surprised it was black underwear but it was very sporty. I would have thought the tough chick secretly wore really girly underwear. Not that I've spent an unreasonable amount of time thinking about Kensi's underwear.

The Walking Dead: I love every single second of this show like so hard. I can't believe Shane. I mean, yes, whatever it takes for Carl, but come on, then Shane would sacrifice himself, not the other guy. As a story-teller, I am in awe of this twist - but as viewer I am overcome with distress. Also, omg, when Shane and Rick put their foreheads together and were all grabbing each other's faces (actually that happened in a couple of different episodes) I was like, "It's the apocalypse, you guys. Throw out social norms and THREESOME IT UP, BABY!!" And remember last season, when I was all, “I know he is a redneck racist but I heart Daryl like a hooker!!”? Yeah. Now you are all hearting Daryl like a bunch of hookers but I got there first and already gave him a transmittable disease, so suck it, ladies.

American Horror Story: If you are not watching this show - YOU SHOULD BE! I AM IN LOVE WITH IT LIKE WHOA. I am most compelled by Neighbor Lady and Tate the Crazed Teen Boy and I love Violet the Teen Daughter. But mostly, I LOVE THE HOUSE! Definitely my favorite so far is The House. I love the flashbacks to all the murders. AND OH MY GOD!! ERIC CLOSE WAS THE CRAZY DRUNK RAPIST!! ERIC!!! Oh, I hope we see him again. My heart is so happy. And Tivo didn't tell me he was going to be on it, so I was pleasantly surprised. I also am still in shock over what happened to Adi. Do you think she'll come back as a ghost? This show, seriously.

Death Valley: If you are not watching this show - WHY NOT? It's on MTV and you should start watching it right the fuck now. I know, you are all, "But it's on MTV." No, don't let that stop you - it's like COPS but with vampires and werewolves and zombies. And not like an apocalypse, but just like normal everyday life going on with these supernatural beings as a daily part of it. You don't need to know anything about it to jump right in - so JUMP RIGHT IN. Billy is my cop boyfriend and I know he is a douche-idiot, but god I love him. He is like The Todd from "Scrubs" except instead of being a surgeon with a scalpel, he is a cop with a gun. He's like...he's...I can't even explain it to you, but he is like my perfect man. And that probably explains so much about me to all of you.

Glee: Glee came back last night and Tivo missed it!! It didn't tape. Apparently it was listed as a rerun and lots of people missed it because their Tivos/DVRs didn't pick it up. Boo!! I wasn't that excited about its return, but still.. PUCK.

Wilfred: I recently found myself really, really missing this genius little show. I have quite a wait in store. I am really worried about what the ending of the season means for Bear.

Psych: I have waaaaaay too many thoughts, so let's just go with - WHO SAW LASSITER/ZACHARIAH?! Yes, Zachariah like Kurt Fuller. THEY WERE CUDDLING!!!!!!! IT'S CANON ON THE SHOW NOW, RIGHT?! Sadly, Woody (Kurt Fuller) seems to be married.

Once Upon a Time and Grimm: I have started watching these but it is still too early for me to have any thoughts. I like to give all new shows like three episodes before I decide one way or another. They both seem to have good potential though.

There are a few other shows that I watch too, but I think that is all the thoughts I have for now.

In Sum: Billy/Me/The Todd would be my ideal lifemate scenario. Also - KENSI IN HER UNDERWEAR!!!

TV, teacher, mother, secret lover! Things which I enjoy talking about!

SPN: I don't do Wincest, but I would read the shit outta a story in which there was no monsters and John was just a psycho with a gun and hallucinations. Go write that.

Walking Dead: I guess they needed to make us hate Shane even more after the attempted rape of Lori? Because they're doing a good job. That was effin' Pruitt Taylor Vince, he of the shifty eyes and who has been in every freaking thing on TV over the years. He is awesome! Or was. Stupid Shane. And yes, I have been very aware of all the forehead touching and the "Shh, shh, shh"-ing and the hands on faces thing. I like seeing that, though, even if I don't ship them. I like seeing that kind of emotion between two obviously tough guys who are partners and mean a lot to each other.

AHS: I recorded last week and tonight and will watch them together because I know it's a two-parter. I liked last week where we got to meet weirdo doctor and his holey-headed wife. And LOL, did you see that scene where he and his wife are arguing and the doc throws the glass and the baby has this incredible look of shock on his poor little face? Poor little guy, that was cool though. I'm mean.

Glee: Recorded, not yet watched.

Once Upon a Time: Be patient and give it a chance. It's really good. Especially the woman who plays the evil queen. Damn, I'd love to get someone like her on SPN to kick some stupid Winchester ass. She's awesome. And the storyline is really neat and twisty. Don't give up on it.

SPN: I don't do Wincest, but I would read the shit outta a story in which there was no monsters and John was just a psycho with a gun and hallucinations. Go write that.

I read one once where John was just a crazy bastard, but the boys didn't know that and they thought monsters were actually real. I think it was a Criminal Minds crossover. But what I want is one where the boys are just fucked in the head by their crazy militia dad and something, maybe his death, pushes them into some crazed crime spree of epic proportions. I am normally a Dean/Cas girl, but I read some Sam/Dean from time to time - and in my head, this story would be so fucked up, these boys would be so insane, incest isn't even on the list of their biggest sins.

Walking Dead: I guess they needed to make us hate Shane even more after the attempted rape of Lori?

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that. Well not forgotten but I guess I remembered it less graphic than it was. I felt bad for Shane last season because he was struggling so hard to keep the unit together and he is just not equipped to be a leader like Rick is. But now I am having a hard time reconciling his actions with the man we saw last year - I think he is finally starting to have that breakdown that everyone else probbaly got early on but that Shane didn't have the luxury of getting to have.

That was effin' Pruitt Taylor Vince, he of the shifty eyes and who has been in every freaking thing on TV over the years. He is awesome!

He was on the X-Files, right? I really liked him on The Walking Dead - I said that if he had been given a choice (the one Shane took from him) he may have chosen to sacrifice himself to make it right for shooting Carl - but he wouldn't have chosen to get eaten alive, that was just harsh.

I like seeing that kind of emotion between two obviously tough guys who are partners and mean a lot to each other.

I love that. I love when they aren't afraid to let male characters show emotion and love. I just figure, with them building this love triangle with Lori, why not threesome it up. It is my solution to everything, yes. ;)

AHS: did you see that scene where he and his wife are arguing and the doc throws the glass and the baby has this incredible look of shock on his poor little face? Poor little guy, that was cool though. I'm mean.

I always wonder about the baby actors in scenes where they have to cry. Like, what do they do, pinch the baby and then start rolling camera? I actually did notice that though because I was watching the baby's face the whole time to see what it's reaction was going to be if the husband shot the wife in the head or something.

Once Upon a Time: Be patient and give it a chance. It's really good. Especially the woman who plays the evil queen.

I'm still watching, have last night's ep waiting for me on the Tivo. I am most interested in the evil queen actually - I want to know if she remembers who she is or not, like something about her seems like she knows that something is off there. And Rumplestiltkins - does he remember who they are? I think he does.

I screamed at the TV when Shane did that. I was all, "SHAAAAANE!" And freaking out. And boy, did he ever look guilty at the last scene on the farm with everyone. And DALE TOTALLY KNOWS THE TRUTH. You can tell.

The Lev!chesters episode was the best of the season so far. No lie.

Once Upon a Time disappointed me. I need to watch the Grimm pilot, still. I have a link.

Glee made me happy this week. Go Burt! And Shelby, BAD on you. BAD BAD BAD.

That is all. Off to work!
dodger_sister: zombiedodger_sister on November 7th, 2011 07:13 pm (UTC)
TWD - I am starting to think that Shane is finally having his nervous breakdown. I mean, everyone else probably got to freak out and breakdown somewhat when the zombies first came - but Shane has been so intent on keeping everyone safe and alive, he hasn't really had that luxury yet. I think we are going to see a slow unraveling for him. I think it is good storytelling, but I am chewing my fingernails to pieces over it.

SPN - don't you just want Levi!Winchesters all the time? Watching the two boys, especially Jensen, play that out was so much fun!

I think Once Upon A Time would be better if they stopped doing flashbacks to the fairy tale world and just concentrated on the present day. We know who everybody is now - let's watch the fairy tales play out in our world. But I now have enough questions about things that I think I have to stick with it until they are answered.

Grimm is good but the lead guy isn't really keeping my interest. His two partners/friends I find the most interesting.

I guess I have to go download Glee from ITunes since the Tivo missed it. I wasn't sure if I was going to, but you are all talking about Burt and I heart Burt so hard.

Bobby and Sheriff Mills need to get it on. When I watched the ep, I had this thought: what if the writers realized a lot of fangirls are gonna hate them if they get Sam or Dean a new love interest (or Sera Gamble wouldn't allow it, because we all know she's such a Wincest fan. ;)) but Bobby is fine and he can totally get a girlfriend! \o/ I would be more than fine with that, Bobby needs more love. :)

Sorry about the Kensi thing, bb, I know you were looking forward to that. :(

Oooooh, you are so right! I suspect there would be a slew of fangirls who are all, "Ewww" about Bobby getting love-action but they wouldn't show up on Sera's doorstep with torches and pitchforks like they would if she gave one of the boys a girlfriend. (Idk why they don't want the boys to hook up, I love nothing more thn watching Dean kiss, he should do that more). And oh yes, Sera is SO a Wincest shipper. lol

Trigger Warning: Lifematchboximpala on November 5th, 2011 01:32 am (UTC)
Season 7 of SPN is making me happier than Season 6 did, so I am going with it. I think it is inevitable that Sheriff Mills & Bobby will be getting it on. I wonder who is going to have a more difficult time adjusting to that: Bobby or Dean?

H5O - My imagination, or a little off? I feel much better now that Kono is back in the fold, but I think the dynamic between Steve and Danny is wacky. I want the writers to stop trying to make them simultaneously heterosexual and very, very gay for each other. Please, writers, stick with making them gay. Also, me no like Lori. God, what was that bizarrely awkward scene between her and Chin in the hotel room, where she tried to ask him about Steve?

American Horror Story: I've downloaded all eps, but haven't seen it yet. Maybe tonight.

Once Upon a Time and Grimm: Maybe on the first one, I don't think so on the second.

Terra Nova: Have I mentioned how much I love Jason O'Mara? I thought he was good in Life on Mars, but after his display of charm at WonderCon last year, I was hooked. I was SO HOPING that Terra Nova would turn out to be more than Swiss Family Robinson in prehistoric times and thankfully it has. It has its moments of cheese (last week mommy helped hatch a dinosaur, yay!), but it has enough of an edge to keep me interested. And sometimes Jason takes off his shirt. urk. (lookee here: http://www.welcometoterranova.com/jason-omara-featured-in-mens-fitness-magazine/)

Ringer: I made it through the first ten minutes.

Revenge: I think I love this show. Well-written, well-paced, kind of a "Dallas" vibe, but the main chick is very cool. A lot is packed into every episode and I like that we are not waiting for a big mystery to be revealed. I do wonder how they'll be able to sustain it past one season, though.

The Secret Circle: I keep watching, even though it is lame.

Shows I am super disappointed in this season: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother (Barney with a girlfriend is just wrong), Community (where is the funny) -- my three favorite comedies either all suck this year or I have lost my sense of humor. Other downers: Chuck (painful), Glee (I think I'm done), and Bones. I mean, I've been disappointed in Bones for a while now but seriously? The big reveal at the end of last season is that Brennan is pregnant and they start the season premier with her being six (seven?) months along and then shacking up together? Like the reason anyone watches the show is for the forensic science or the mystery-solving. No people, it is to watch Brennan and Booth deal with their feelings for each other and the pregnancy was the perfect opportunity to have them reconcile those feelings and develop a relationship. But instead we see them arguing about where they are going to live.

urg. So I think I'm done with that one, too.

Boy, this is long. I hope you aren't bored to death.

Shows I am sticking with: Castle, Fringe, The Good Wife, The Mentalist, Merlin, & Nikita.

I think I watch too much television.

SPN - I have distanced myself so much from expecting anything this season that I can't tell if it is actually better or if I am just not as invested as I was. I really hope Bobby gets his moment with Sherrif Mills (even though I suspect that would then mean she has to die). Reaction seems to be that the fans are in favor of some Bobby/Sheriff.

H5O - My imagination, or a little off?...I want the writers to stop trying to make them simultaneously heterosexual and very, very gay for each other.

Yes, totally off. Like all the time that Kono was away from the team, did Steve or Danny never go check in with her? That seems way out of character. They are a team, no matter the hard times. I feel very over-protective of the team dynamic on this show and it feels odd lately. I actually liked Lori at the beginning, when she first showed up - but as soon as they started trying to force her on Steve - that's what it felt like to me, forced. It is making things very awkward. And you know, they already had enough trouble last year making sure that Chin and Kono got screen time, adding a new member makes no sense.

I can't even get into how stupid they are being about Steve and Danny. They did a really good job last year letting Steve have that awesome Navy chick girlfriend without messing up that underlying chemistry between him and Danny - this year they don't seem to remember how to balance it. And Steve and Danny just seem weird around each other - unless what the writers are trying to convey is that Steve and Danny slept together and now they don't know how to act around one another. ;) ranua commented below and is completely onboard with your sentiment.

American Horror Story - Watch it! I am loving it. It's my favorite new thing of the season actually.

Once Upon a Time and Grimm - So far they are both good but not great. I am hanging with them for at least the first half of the seasons, I think.

Terra Nova - Have I mentioned how much I love Jason O'Mara? - Ha! I didn't know who he was, but I have been seeing a ton on the internets lately where everyone is talking about how they love Jason O'Mara and I am all, "Who is that?". lol I think he has a very Hugh Jackman quality to him, don't you? Thanks for the link of manly hotness!

I am actually enjoying this more and more. Once they started to develop the characters more - like I love the daughter and the female military chick and I am highly intrigued by what Taylor's secret agenda is. I too thought it might be Swiss Family Robinson-esque, but the main difference is they have a reaching plot arc and some good characters. I wonder how it is doing in the ratings though.

I don't watch Ringer or Revenge but I am watching The Secret Circle. I know it is lame in that "teen soap" kind of way but I like those things - mindless teenage stupidity entertains me. I used to be ashamed of this vice but I own up to it now. I own One Tree Hill on DVD fr crying out loud - at least Secret Circle has witches in it! FYI - I am kind of in love with Faye.

I am watching Glee but only with half-interest. If they would just stop focusing on Kurt and Rachel so much I think I would enjoy it more. But I made it through that horrid bullying storyline last year and didn't quit, so I think I am sticking with it at least until January and then I'll reassess.

Bones - I just started watching it this last year, but in reruns through the streaming. So I started at the beginning. We just finished season three and even though we knew it was coming, we both (my sister and I) got so upset about what happened with Zach that we are taking a little break (going to watch the My So Called Life dvds I bought her for her birthday). I do know what is going on this season with Bones and Booth and I can't blame you for feeling the way you do - if you don't handle that storyline carefully it can be very Cousin Oliver Jumps A Shark (using a kid or a baby to change things up + going somewhere completely ridiculous you can never come back from).

Yay tv!

Supernatural: Bobby should totally be tapping that *nods head* I mean, the woman doesn't seem to care at all bout him having a body in the basement after all. They make such an adorable couple too. And I'm sure it says something about my head that I really liked the Levi!Winchesters bitching about how fucked up the boys are. I really dig character dissection especially when said characters are so f'd up it's amazing they're upright. :D

H5-0: I too was sadly disappointed by the lack of Kensi in the ep. But at least they referenced her being there on NCIS:LA so maybe something will come of that. And speaking of Kensi, personally I thought that was some damn sexy underwear ;) Anyway, H5-0, I'm sure Steve took Lori aside and told her she was not to call Danny Dano ever again. And he made scarey seal face at her too. Also, I agree with matchboximpala the writers need to make up their mind what they're doing with Steve and Danny.

NCIS:LA: Nell and Eric were beyond adorable in those little uniforms. :D You know they both secretly love going into the field, but only when they can be assured of no gun-fire. I'm firmly of the opinion that Hetty is training Nell up to be her mini-me. My only complaint with the show over all is please stop throwing Deeks/Kensi at me. I could buy it, but it's unprofessional and I've never gotten the feeling that either of them is unprofessional. In fact I'd say they're both married to the job.

Death Valley sounds interesting. I loved The Todd from Scrubs. Him and Dr. Cox are my favorites.

One episode in and I really like Once Upon a Time. Now I just have to find the time to watch it!
dodger_sister: ncis ladodger_sister on November 7th, 2011 09:52 pm (UTC)
SPN - The general reaction from fans is that Bobby needs to get on tapping that ass! I am pleased by this.

And I'm sure it says something about my head that I really liked the Levi!Winchesters bitching about how fucked up the boys are. I really dig character dissection especially when said characters are so f'd up it's amazing they're upright.

- You know what? I really liked the Levi!chesters picking apart their counterparts and it wasn't just that it was funny to watch the Js do that - I couldn't place my finger on what it was that I liked about it. You nailed it for me. It was the character dissection of our main heroes but with the reality that they are totally fucked up.

H5-0 - Kensi was suppose to deliver a message to Sam from Steve when she got back to NCIS:LA and I waited and waited and she never did. :( Yeah, last year they somehow managed to let Steve have that Navy chick girlfriend and not mess up the dynamic between him and Danny - how come they can't do it this year. And it's not like they are making Steve/Danny so overtly gay that they are scaring away their regular viewers so why mess with it? I am wondering if they have a slew of new writers because so many of the chaacter dynamics feel off.

NCIS:LA - You know they both secretly love going into the field - Hells yes they do! They both so geek out about it. I agree, I feel like Nell is on her way to being the new Hetty. I think she can handle it - she is very organized and doesn't take anyone's crap.

My only complaint with the show over all is please stop throwing Deeks/Kensi at me. - I like the little flirting they do (in the same way I like the flirting G and Sam do) but if they are actually going to make it a real thing on the show, then NO. I agree with you, they wouldn't be that unprofessional. (also, it pisses me off because G and Sam have chemistry that is just as good as Deeks/Kensi but it would never occur to anyone to make that a real thing - I know the mainstream is not there yet, but I'm getting impatient!)

Death Valley - You would love it, it fits your warped sense of humor. The Boy would love it too! It's only a half hour program, you should check it out. Scrubs - Dr. Cox is the man I am not-so-secretly in love with. The Todd is the man I end up with. I am not surprised they are your favorites - we do have such similar tastes. ;)

Once Upon A Time is getting better with each episode. I am sticking with it for the first 13 episodes I think and then I'll see.

But you've been EMPHATICALLY doing nothing... and including some very cool time-using activities. (Turns out, the LoTR trilogy is being reaired on Encore today and tonight, so we've been watching it as well.)
