Birthdays and Holidays!
Happy Birthday to all my peeps who celebrated this month!! xingou, rageprufrock, angelcords, phamalama and saddle_tramp.

I hope your days were AWESOME and ROCKIN'!!

Have some Hobbits!

Don't take it lightly that I offer you hobbits. I never share my hobbits with anyone. They are mine, my own, my precious.

Yes, I am a dork.

In other news, the Christmas decorations are up. My sister is sad-face because we had three different people in the house yesterday and not one of them said anything about the tree. I told her the first aunt was all distracted by the silver silverware we donated to help her get started in her new business, and the second aunt was all distracted by a rubber band she found in the driveway (idek, my family) and Kevin, despite that I constantly say he is a woman, is actually in fact a man and thus gives a rat's ass about our tree. /pats sister/ The wreath is up on the front window, the nativity on the mantle and all the Christmas bears are in the rocking chair. The Christmas bears made me sad because there was this one that Papa Bear really loved. Every year he would get up in the chair and sprawl on top of it like a long lost friend. Then he would refuse to sleep in bed with me until the bears were put away again because he had to sleep only with his bear.

Wow, I just brought the room down.

Also, my cardboard standee hobbits have their holiday hats on (they look like Santa and elf hats but they are actually holiday covers for your wine bottles - fitting for the hobbits, don't you think?)

That is all.

Weee, hobbitses! Happy, happy hobbitses!

Now I want a Christmas tree too! It will have to wait, though, because in this country you don't get a Christmas tree until like a week before Christmas.

The more you talk about Papa Bear, the more awesome he sounds. I'm really sorry, bb.

HOBBITSES!!!

Annie was telling me last year that you all don't get your trees until just days before Christmas. I am puzzled - how do you get in the Christmas spirit then without ridiculous colored flashing lights blinding you from every house whenever you step outside? (I can hear Lucy from The Peanuts telling me that Christmas is a commercial racket run by a big eastern syndicate now). I have photos of my most ridiculous Christmas tree ornaments, I shall try to post soon.

Thanks, bb. I know last Christmas, just a few months after my sister lost her cat, she couldn't go in the pet store at Christmas time because every pink ridiculous toy she wanted to buy for her cat would just depress her - I had to do all the kitty shopping last year. I shall combat this problem by taking The Nephew with me when I do my kitty shopping this year.

Hahaha, I don't know how we manage it without the Chirstmas trees! Well, we do put up lights and "advent stars" and light candles and listen to the same Christmas carols over and over again and build snow men and eat Christmas sweets and buy presents and send Christmas cards, but other than that, I don't know how we manage. ;)

The Nephew sounds like a good distraction, yes. I like that you buy Christmas presents for your cats, everyone should do that. Our dog usually gets a treat, like a pig ear or something. :P

Oh right, all of those things. Okay, okay. ;)

Our cats are so spoiled. They have a stocking. One for my boys and one for my sister's. SPOILED.

I would totally spoil my cat if I had one. *sigh* I want a cat! :)

You are a way overachiever with the holiday decorations! Someone will notice at some point I'm sure, but like you said, everyone was all distracted. lol

I miss my kitty every time I even think about doritos. She loved them to distraction and would practically maul you if you didn't share.

Kevin claimed that he did notice the tree and that it was lovely but I think he was just covering his ass because my sister was so sad-face. lol My mom came by and not only did she notice the tree but she went through each ornament to look at them - she was shocked by how many we still have from childhood. Giving ornaments as gifts was something the older generation (my grandma and her sisters) did a lot so we have some interesting ones that were gifted to us when we were young.

Awwwww. Doritos, really? Papa Bear liked french fries. A couple of times he literally grabbed a fry while it was sticking halfway out of my mouth (yes, while I was eating it!) and then ran off with the damn thing!

HOBBITSES!!!

Having all those ornaments from your childhood is really cool. Imo Christmas is like 90% about family and to have that sort of tangible reminder of the past and family is awesome.

My Cookie actually pulled a piece of bologna out from between the slices of bread as I was holding a sandwich once! She reached out with her little claw and shwoosh! there went the bologna!
