Everyone Is So Bamf-ey Now.
My back hurts. Though I am unable to tell if it is really my back or actually my stomach. I think the tea I am about to drink will help. Tonight I was going to bitch about some family things and how I felt kind of grumpy all weekend - and I may come back to this because the one thing in particular has been an ongoing issue for me - but right now, even with my back hurting, I have to flail around. Because…

The Walking Dead just had the most amazing return ever! They came back with a bang and a half! .

Uh, first of all, Carol and Daryl flirting with each other is the best thing that has ever happened, ever!! Beth flirting with Carl was so fucking adorable. Carl not only getting a gun, but being put on serious active duty is what I have been waiting for with that kid all along! Glen and Maggie have become serious hardcore badasses - (okay, well, Glen always was from the minute we first heard his voice and Maggie has been seriously edging towards hardcore territory). Hell, even Lori was finally shooting a gun this episode. And Rick, omg, RICK. Let’s start with how Lori wants to talk about her feelings but you can tell, Rick has just shut his emotions down to be the man he has to be to keep them alive. Not like Shane, but just…my biggest complaint about Rick has always been that he can’t reconcile the man he used to be with the man he has to be now - and this Rick, the one we just saw, he has finally found that man. The prison is an awesome plot point for the start of the season.

And then, okay, my sis and I were talking about who we think will bite it this year. She says it can’t be Carol because they already killed her whole damn family. I said it can’t be Beth because they already killed Sophia and they need a younger girl. We ended up saying the three most likely will be Hershel (I voted for a ‘sacrificing himself’ death), Glen or Maggie. We left Lori as our alternate. Then right after that happened, Hershel got bit. But my sister starts shouting, “Cut off his leg! Cut it off and cauterize it!” and I immediately realized what she meant and started echoing her, “Yes, cut off his leg. Do it!”. And then Rick took off his belt - like he could hear us shouting at him - and my sis was like, “Holy shit, he is actually going to do it!” until we were both just sitting in the living room yelling “Cut off his leg! Cut off his leg!” and then RICK FUCKING DID IT!!! OMG. He didn’t even hesitate. He just chopped Hershel’s leg right off. RICK IS SO BADASS!!! But then, omg, then…THE END. Those dudes in the prison!! And my sister was all, “Those prison inmates are not about to fuck with Rick. They just saw him chop off Hershel’s leg like a badass!” The episode ended with us pumping our fists and stomping our feet and literally screaming with joy.

It. Was. Awesome.

And the tea is already helping, thank you very much. Night all.

It was COMPLETELY FUCKING AMAZING. I was too fascinated to do my usual point-by-point reaction post, but maybe next week.

Carol was funny with the "wanna screw around," and I liked it, but I also felt like it was fan-servicing more than character-appropriate. *ducks and runs* :P

Did you do the synched screens thing? They had ongoing poll questions that popped up about every three minutes of air time on amctv.whateveritis, gore-ratings for some of the stuff, and instant replays that you could watch during the commercials! It was big fun!

I screamed, "Now cauterize it, damnit!" And I totally startled The Awesome Husband TM when I did. Mua ha ha!

Sadly, TWD did NOT prevent school dreams last night, though. Oh, well. I think it was because of coming back from Fall Break. Maybe on a regular Sunday I'll be okay, yes? That would be nice.

Wasn't it just?! I am glad it was just fascination that kept you from posting - I was worried it was paperwork or exhaustion.

Naw, I won't throw anything at you. I didn't feel that way though. I felt like it was showing us character-development from where we last saw them. It's been a whole winter and Carol has let go of some of her grief enough to be joking around and Daryl has loosened up enough with her to be comfortable around her. That may be the shipper in me with the wishful thinking but I stand by 'character development'!

Did you do the synched screens thing?

Nope. That sounds cool though! We don't watch it real time. It is on at 10pm and my sis has to be up and getting ready for wok at 5am, so we always watch after dinner on Mondays.

I screamed, "Now cauterize it, damnit!" And I totally startled The Awesome Husband TM when I did. Mua ha ha!

ahahahahahaha AWESOME. I would like to say we freaked out the cats with all the screaming and stomping, but sadly, they are used to the crazy from us.

Sadly, TWD did NOT prevent school dreams last night, though.

Ugh. You don't get paid enough for your job to be invading your dreams. Can you get overtime for that? I have had nightmares lately too but it's my own damn fault for plotting out my Halloween story while I am falling asleep.

A totally reasonable assumption, but I think my main failure to post was because of the synched screens. When I would normally have been typing comments, instead, I played amctv games! So maybe this Sunday I will not do the synched screens, and instead will open up a word doc and touch type as I watch.

I would like to say we freaked out the cats with all the screaming and stomping, but sadly, they are used to the crazy from us. That was what made TAHtm's reaction so GREAT. He usually does not get surprised by my reactions.

Can you get overtime for that? Sadly, no - dream work is even less recognized than waking overtime by a teacher payscale - but they both rate the same amount per hour.

Almost time for Supernatural! The season 8 opener was, I thought, better than pretty much all of season 7. We'll see if they can manage to continue that trend.

Hey, if you enjoyed the synched screens, you go right ahead and do that. I mean, you and I will end up talking about the episode in some thread or another anyways and my opinion is the only one that matters, right? RIGHT? lol No? Okay.

That was what made TAHtm's reaction so GREAT.

It made me laugh to see that The Awesome Husband TM has now gotten an abbreviation - TAHtm. 8)

Thus far, I have enjoyed season 8 more than I did season 7 by a LOT. There are certainly complaints but I have to remind myself that even during my favorite seasons, I had complaints. There are some new interesting characters and even though they didn't do with Purguratory what I would have liked (I thought they should let the boys be separated for a little while into the season) - I do really like what they have done with Dean in Purg so far.
Ironlily - Making My Marquevikingprincess on October 20th, 2012 12:51 am (UTC)
No, no, I love writing the at-the-moment commentaries. I sort of, erm, forgot about it for the season opener (durrrrr.) And I LOVE getting your opinions on the shows, you know that, but I like to spew onto the page during a show and hear what people think, too.

Yes, he now has an abbreviation. I like it because it's like the first half of Ta-daaaa! And therefore, it fits his general awesomeness.

I'm really liking Tiger Mommy and Vamp Dude. I hope we get to see more of Kevin's mom; I KNOW we'll get to see more of the vamp who helped Dean escape from Purgatory. Actually, I expect that he'll take on sort of a Ruby role for Dean - the same way that Ruby was Sam's non-human hunting partner (and sadly, more) for the time Dean was gone before, Vamp dude will be Dean's non-human partner (and I can SEE YOU SLASHING FROM OVER HERE ALREADY, girl!).

I'm really liking Tiger Mommy and Vamp Dude.

I am really liking Kevin and Kevin's Mom and the new Angel Dude. I am not liking Sam's girlfriend (though I have yet to see this week's episode) and I am not really buying into the whole Benny thing. For one, his accent bothers me (I know you'd think I'd go right for the Cajun accent but I'm not feeling it on this dude) and for two, it is hard to see him as anything other than Magneto's prison guard - I mean, once you've seen a man passed out drunk on a dirty bathroom floor in his underwear, it's hard to see him any other way. I am trying to be open-minded and we'll see if I come around.

and I can SEE YOU SLASHING FROM OVER HERE ALREADY, girl!).

My initial response to that is DEAN/CAS 4EVAH!!!!!!!! But you and I both know under the right circumstances, I can slash anyone with anyone, particularly Dean. I have a pretty high resolve to never write anything post-season 5 though. Wanna take bets on how long that will last?
Ironlily - Making My Marquevikingprincess on October 20th, 2012 01:24 am (UTC)
THAT'S who Benny is! Ha, he looks much better in SpN than he did in the X-men movies. MUCH. And I'm okay with the accent, I guess - it doesn't sound Cajun to me, though; more just general Louisiana. Or heck, maybe it's one of the first real Cajun accents I've heard and I just didn't know it?

Nope, no betting over here. But I think I need to pretend (in lots of ways) that a large portion of S6 and S7 never happened.

Thank you, darling. I don't think my grumpy state of mind was helped at all by how grey and windy and down-right nasty the weather was either. I never did figure if it was my back or tummy - I just put an icy-heat patch on my back and a heating pad on my stomach and went to sleep. I feel better now, thanks, though I have gotten a cold. Boo Michigan weather.

OMG CAN WE TALK ABOUT HERSHEL'S LEG? I FREAKED THE FUCK OUT.

I was a lil weirded out with Beth flirting with Carl LOL. I'm still a li'l iffy on Carl but it is good to see him starting to be badass. It made me think a little of Dean, having to grow into this position that's horrifying for a child. From the Dragoncon panel, they said he really comes into his own this season, so that'll be nice.

IKR?! It was AWESOME and BADASS but both myself and my sister had to cover our eyes and squeal in disgust and horror. At one point I peeked out from behind my pillow to see my sister was peeking out from between her fingers, and yet, she totally had her eyes closed. lol

I was a lil weirded out with Beth flirting with Carl

I was too at first because for some reason I remembered Beth being like 16, which is apparently not correct. But I wasn't that weirded out because since Sophia died, I have been cracking jokes about how Beth is Carl's future wife. I mean, it's not like either one of them have many other options, assuming they live that long.

I really felt like in the first season Carl was just there to fill the little kid quota. And in the second season, OMG, I could not stand that kid. I don't know how I expected Carl to learn any better when his own mother was acting like such a nitwit but still...for crying out loud kid, be smarter! But this season he has already grown on me by leaps and bounds. I was about to say, "Oh yeah, I heard that the dude that plays Glen says that Carl will be totally badass this season" but then I realized that I heard that from you! LOL I like the comparision of Carl to Dean - maybe Carl will really step it up once he has a baby sibling to protect.

Except...doesn't the fever start as soon as one of the walkers bites you? I know everyone is already infected, but then what caused some people to get the fevers and sickness and turn into zombies and not others? Would it really matter if Rick chopped off his leg right away if it's blood-borne? It shouldn't; he was infected the minute the walker bit him. Chopping off the leg is not going to prevent the zombie illness from infecting his bloodstream. It would be like cutting off your arm to try to prevent malaria after being bitten by a mosquito.

They need to address some of the zombie inconsistencies. They keep changing shit from season to season.

Obviously I am thinking about this too much.

Also, Paranormal Witness was lame last week. I hope tomorrow is better.

Your icon is made of awesome-sauce!

Idk, but in this particular instance, the reason I thought the leg-chopping-off might work was because they made a point of showing this shot of the black goopy stuff in the bite area, which makes one think that it is something that can spread outwards like that. (It keeps making me think of something else, in some other movie with a black goopy infection thing, but it is on the edge of my mind and I can't figure out what it is from).

I'm trying to remember what the show's past mythology is. But with Andrea's sister, she was bitten so badly that I think she died from the bite. Though with Jim, it did seem to be like a virus or infection.

It would be like cutting off your arm to try to prevent malaria after being bitten by a mosquito.

This is true.

They need to address some of the zombie inconsistencies. They keep changing shit from season to season.

Yeah. It just makes me think about Buffy&Angel and how they kept changing the rules of vampires from episode to episode almost. I am better at handwaving off the science in TWD because I think Rick knows things that we don't know. Or science on this new virus is something we are still trying to figure out as humans/scientists, whereas something like Angel - yeah, he'd been a vampire for 200 years, I think he would know by now what sunlight does to him.

Also, Paranormal Witness was lame last week. I hope tomorrow is better.

I thought the werewolf one was kind of cool but not scary, just..interesting to ponder if it was real, how awesome would that be? The Girl in the Garden was stupid and lame. And the fucking UFO episode the week before? Lame-O. I think aliens are real but the chances I will ever encounter one are much, much, much slimmer than me ever encountering a ghost - therefore ghosts are scarier to me. 2 1/2 hours to go until the new episode!

I made that icon just for you so I could use it to post during Paranormal Witness, LOL. I made the one I'm using on this comment too. That evil-looking face is one of the animatronics from the Haunted Mansion at DisneyLand.

Hmm, I guess I didn't notice the black goo all over his leg. Although...I don't think it would even matter if there was a zombie infection because the zombie mouth is dead and full of awful, awful things!

Yeah, I guess the zombie that bit Andrea's sister did gnaw on her neck really good. It didn't take her long to turn after that. I guess it's different if you die from a bite versus getting bit. I don't know. I do know there's gonna be a bloodbath of characters this season I hope! My first vote: annoying Glen and whatherface who used to be on Show. Goodbye again, Bela!

The UFO episode of PW was super famous back in the day. That's why it was an hour and a half long too. There was too much talking and not enough showing, really. I hope tonight's is good. There's too many shows airing on Wednesdays now! I have to set to tape American Horror Story at midnight because it conflicts with everything. I also like Suburgatory and Storage Wars Texas, which all air at the same blasted time!

a) Dude, you made those icons? AWESOME. and b) Omg, I think I like the ghost one even better. It looks like a fucking creepy version of the Peanuts' Halloween costumes. Wicked cool.

Hmm, I guess I didn't notice the black goo all over his leg.

That's what it looked like to me anyways. (still bugging me what the movie it reminds me of is).

Although...I don't think it would even matter if there was a zombie infection because the zombie mouth is dead and full of awful, awful things!

Right? I hadn't thought of that but dude, yes! Without tetnus shots, they all gonna die anyways.

My first vote: annoying Glen and whatherface who used to be on Show. Goodbye again, Bela!

What?! How do you not like Glen? Glen is my favorite! From the minute in the first season when Rick is stuck in that tank and Glen comes over the radio at him, I was like, "Omg, dude on the radio is awesome" and then he was awesome!

There was too much talking and not enough showing, really.

Yeah, I think that was my main problem with the UFO episode too - after the first half hour it just got all talky-talk and boring. Plus, you know, I am more scared of ghosts.

There's too many shows airing on Wednesdays now! I have to set to tape American Horror Story at midnight because it conflicts with everything.

I know, me too! I am in charge of the Tivo and it has been a hassle this year juggling things. Wednesday is the worst - for us it's Arrow, the SPN, Law & Order SVU, Subugatory, and then Paranormal Witness, South Park, Chicago Fire and American Horror Story. And tonight there is a baseball game on but I have to tape it because I know if I don't, it'll run extra innings and I'll end up falling asleep. I think once Paranormal Witness and South Park finish their seasons and baseball is over, it'll get eaiser for my Tivo. Thank goodness NBC has started to do this thing where they rerun on the weekend, so I can catch SVU and Chicago Fire there this weekend.

Yes, I made them. I make almost all my own icons. There's a few that I have that I didn't make, but that was before I taught myself Photoshop.

"I woulda been fine if it was a rabbit or somethin', but this guy looked like he got hacked up by a chainsaw!" LOL, best description of a drawing of a ghost EVER!

The Hollywood sign one was kinda boring. This skeleton one is better. But they left the dawg outside!! See what happens when you don't treat your pets like humans? Stupid people.

Lookit, I'm editing!

"Yuuuuuuma, come to the waaaaaater." Eek, that was scary, Yuma standing there all in a trance at the front door! GAH! That made me gasp.

I know, I loled for that too!

The Hollywood sign one was kinda boring.

That is a really famous story about the Lady in White at the Hollywood sign. If they gave an hour and a half for that famous UFO story, you'd think they could have found more eyewitness accounts to the Hollywood sign than just those kids.

The skeleton one was pretty awesome, but OMG, YES about the dog. I was like,"If your dog won't shut up for that long, maybe he is distressed and you should bring him inside. Duh. Or at the least, bring him in so he doesn't piss off your neighbors." You know how I feel about this - kidnap people, lock them in face-boxes, terrorize humans, whatever, I don't care - but warn me if you are going to kill the dog!

Yuma standing there all in a trance at the front door!

Yeah, that was creepy, right?

I love that the emo goth daughter is still, after all these years, like, "He was my friend and I miss him."

THIS. I was like, "Why the hell aren't you bringing that goggie IN THE HOUSE???" What terrible people they were! It's one thing if you're on a farm or something and the dog lives outside, or it's a working dog. But this is a family with a house on a busy-ass street and that dog belonged inside! When he was talking about putting the wire around the fence to keep it shut I was all, Why isn't he bringing him in the house? Why isn't that puppy living inside?? Why is he leaving him outside to fucking BARK all night?? That's so damn inconsiderate. He didn't deserve that sweet dog. Grrr.

LOL, emo goth daughter! So true. I bet she's weird and stuff too.
dodger_sister: zombiedodger_sister on October 19th, 2012 08:26 pm (UTC)
The busy highway street and the dog and the haunted house and before the dog even died - at first when they were explaining to the daughter about not going to close to the street - my mind immediately went to Pet Semetary and I was like, "First the pet gets hit by a car and then the kid gets hit by a car and the next thing you know your zombie-baby is trying to knife you to death."

I hope those people never got another dog, if that's how they treat them.
