I’m An Adult, Yo.
First of all, yesterday was shirebound’s birthday! So a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, darling! After all the years of hearing my sister talk about you, it has been so nice that we have finally gotten to know each other. I hope Pip-Pup gave you lots of snuggles and cuddles. A little birthday love for you…

Birthday Hug-dodger_sister

And now, here is a list of all the things I have accomplished since waking up on Sunday morning.

01. My regular TV lineup caught up on.
02. Grandparents visited.
03. Comments answered.
04. Extras on The Hobbit watched. (I want to have James Nesbitt’s babies, okay?)
05. Pilot of Vikings watched. (I liked it and found myself more engaged than I am with half of my other shows.)
06. Exercises done.
07. Flist caught up on. (Of course, this was on Monday.)
08. Creepy Lifetime movie starring Eliza Dushku watched. (She wore a cop uniform, you guys!)
09. Story rewrites and edits done.
10. Therapy attended.
11. Laundry put away.
12. Bedroom straightened up.
13. New high score on Puss n Boots Fruit Ninja accomplished. (Sis beat that score, but I took it back last night!)
14. Arrangements for The Nephew’s spring break visit made.
15. Story posted.
16. New book started. (My first of the year, Warm Bodies.)
17. Therapy attended. (Again.)
18. More Teen Wolf watched. (This requires a post of its own, because Season 2, holy shit!)
19. Weekly word count met. (More Chicago Fire fic, ya’ll!)
20. Exercises done. (Again.)
21. Weekly Tivo organization accomplished.
22. Story cross-posted.
23. This post made.

Whew. Damn. Seriously, it’s like a full-time job. How do people who actually work get anything done? Thankfully there were Girl Scout Cookies to fuel me along. For tomorrow I have to make my word count post for the month - (how have I not done this yet?) - and do my unfucking of my habitat for the month. This has been going really well - so far this year I have organized my DVD collection and sorted/put away almost a year’s worth of mail. I think this month it will be sorting through my DVD wallets. Catching up on all the emails will have to wait until next week, because it is Friday and The BFF is here and it is time for food and TV and fangirling!

Enjoy your weekends, everyone!

I'm glad to know you're watching Vikings, its a good show. I started watching it because it kept appearing on friend's Tumblrs and then it hooked me with characters, history and sexiness.

They reran the first three eps of Vikings, so I grabbed it then because the ads really had me interested and then when I read up about how, you know, history has painted the Vikings so negatively and this show is trying to show the other side of that - I got even more interested.

So far I have just watched the pilot - I am still at that stage where I don't know their names yet, so we have Ragnar and Ragnar's wife and Ragnar's brother and Shipbuilder and Overlord. lol But I like Ragnar's tough decisions, to go where his heart tells him or obey his lord, and I love the thing with the kid where he wants to be a man but isn't quite yet and I really love how badass the wife was.

So I'm liking it a lot so far.

Thank you for the hugs, my friend! I'm glad we're all still one big family on LJ. :)

It sounds like it was a wonderful birthday and I can't wait to read all the little fics people wrote you for the occasion! LJ really is such a great place for us all to come together. <3

:D you have been busy bb!

do my unfucking of my habitat for the month omg! what an awesome phrase! I'm totally going to steal that if you don't mind. That's something I sorely need to do myself. There's this corner of my office ...

I know, it's exhausting doing All The Things. I felt like I needed to be productive last week since this week The Nephew will be here (tomorrow!) and staying until Saturday and I will be far less productive. I'll be happy if I can get my word count in and go to therapy, tbh. That kids wears me out! ;)

what an awesome phrase! I'm totally going to steal that if you don't mind.

lol I would like to take credit for it but it's not actually mine. It was originally a blog, but now it seems to have morphed into a Tumbler. A Flistie of mine knew that in a year her lease would be up and she would be moving and she wanted like five minute things that she could do every day so it wouldn't be so overwhelming when she moved. And she came across this UnFuck Your Habitat blog and started posting about 'today I unfucked the up high kitchen cupboards,' and the like and it inspired me a lot. I started reading the blog a little and that is why this year I decided to spend one afternoon a month doing one little thing around my room. (only one afternoon because I know my penance for getting overexcited about organizing and doing too much and then my body gets very angry - I have to learn my limits). UFYH recs great five/ten minute things you can do, once a day, once a week, once a month, your choice, to unclutter your house and essentially your life. Here's the Tumblr for your pleasure.
