For The Day.
I've seen this floating around everywhere and it made me smile. I thought it'd be good to share today.

Mister Rogers - Helpers

Mister Rogers always was a wise man.

You are one of the people that help to restore my faith in humanity.

Awwwwwwww, bb. Wait...was that directed at me or Mister Rogers? lol I actually went searching for this quote when I decided to post it and I found all these really great quotes from Fred Rogers that made me tear up a little.

How's your day going? I actually had a couple of different visits with some of the family kids today, which is always fun.

Both I guess :-D

Meh, nothing new, nothing speacial, lil' sis got sick and I went with her to the doc yesterday. That's about it.

Aww, always fun with the kids :-D Especially yours! I would say that I want nieces and nephews too, but that would be kinda soon considering how young my sisters are :-D
I have to live through you in this department.

Awww, thanks, babe!

You'll get nieces and nephews someday and it'll be the best thing ever!

Hope your lil sis is feeling better!

It made me feel better when I saw it, so I thought it might help some other people smile after yesterday. Mister Rogers was always good at making things better.

I think I retweeted this message twice today, there are so many helpers.
dodger_sister: hope and lovedodger_sister on April 17th, 2013 12:25 am (UTC)
It was a great message for yesterday, and everyday really. I think I'll think of it from now on whenever something like this happens.

I was wondering, is anyone at your school talking about ways to handle discussing things like Boston with the kids? I usually worked with preschool kids, we didn't get a lot of 'big questions' like this.

No one's mentioned it all, its kind of weird. After school, I talked about it when it was coming on the news with a student who said oh its fireworks, nothing to worry about.

Last I've heard though the school twitter did send a message of hope but that's it. Maybe there's been more in homerooms but in the school in general, nothing.

That is odd. You'd think at least the head would have sent out an email saying, "Kids may ask questions or be discussing it with each other, so if you hear that, jump in and reassure them." or "These are the talking points if it comes up in your presence, but we'll try to leave it mostly to the parents to discuss with them." Or something. Huh.

Yeah, I don't get it. I guess because its so far away, they thought it might not make an effect, usually they're better about this sort of thing. But then this school isn't always as considerate as they talk like they are.
