Into The Page.
So, last year, wolfrider89 and I challenged each other to post a piece of our own original poetry in honor of National Poetry Month. I thought I'd do it again this year and I think she is going to as well! Since the month is almost over, I thought I'd better get on that.

I haven't written any poetry since my early twenties, so all of my options are rather old. But I ended up picking out something I wrote back when I was around 13 or 14. It's about the power of writing and being a writer and I find it comforting that I wrote this more than twenty years ago and here I am, still writing. The formatting on it is odd, so rather than try to replicate it by typing it out again, I just went and scanned the original in. I'm not as nerve-wracked about sharing this as I was with my piece last year, which is nice as well. Enjoy!

Thank you so much! Sometimes it's hard to be subjective about your own work, so I am thrilled for this piece to get such high praise.

That's beautiful in meaning and formatting.

Thank you! I was even a little surprised that I tried this style of formatting at such a young age, so your compliment makes me truly happy.

Thanks, babe! That awesome poem you posted earlier in the monthabout writing made me think of this and wonder if I still had it somewhere.

They do share a sentiment, don't they? :) I'm glad you found it.

Oh wow. Oh wow, baby. I LOVED this. The format, the meaning, the words, the soaring, the pacing. Beautiful. I especially loved the sinking, falling, spreading part. :)

Thank you, bb!! I look at the formatting and the pacing and I wonder how I could have done something so unique at the age of 13, when about 5 years later all my poetry just involved extreme cussing. lol I am so glad you liked it so much! This comment has made me beam like crazy. <3.
