To The Edge Of Night.
This just broke my heart, so many heroes, lost in the blink of an eye.

"People are always asking me how is it that firefighters run into a burning building when everyone else is running out. Courage is the answer." - Ladder 49.

This means a lot to me, especially since this is the place I live. And one of my coworker/friend's husband was among the victims. It has been a very awful 24 hours :(

I didn't realize this was where you lived in Arizona. I am so sorry to hear one of your friend's husbands was one of the firefighters lost that day. I can't imagine how the community is dealing with all of this. I saw your post and I understand why you must suddenly feel like part of the community. My thoughts are with the people of Prescott. /hugs/

Thank you for this tribute. My brother is a firefighter, and I worry about him every day.

I never knew your brother was a firefighter. I heard this very touching tribute on the radio other day that said that firefighters and their families everywhere are grieving this - not just because it brings the fear of loss so close to home, but because firefighters are one big family, one community, everywhere, across the nation, they stand together. It made me think of you and your brother. Just know that he is a hero to people who have never even met him, just because he is there everyday, ready to help and save. /hugs/
