Law Teacher tells Chick (no, I don't know their names yet), who is a pre-law student (I know, liptonrm, I know) that he has a secret case for her to look into and that's how she can prove herself to him.
The case file in question - Kobayashi vs Tennessee.
And I say to the TV, "What?! Like the fake ship in Star Trek?"
Sadly, the TV doesn't answer me.
And I'm all,"What? Are the writers of this show a bunch of Star Trek geeks?"
Still, the TV doesn't answer me.
I guess I'll spoiler cut this, in case you are really dedicated about your Hellcats non-spoilery-ing.
So then they show Chick studying and she is all, "I can't find this case anywhere. How can I research a case that doesn't seem to exist?"
And now I'm like, "Oh for the love of god, of course it doesn't exist. It's not a nod on the part of the writers. They did it on purpose. Law Teacher is giving you a fake case under the name of a fake ship. It's a test, you moron."
The TV is still not answering me, but by this point, I know I'm right. So he gives her a fake case that she can't possibly present him with anything on come Monday, so that she will learn to accept failure. Thank you, Spock.
She finds out, through discussion with another classmate, that Law Teacher gave it to all of them, as a secret case they weren't suppose to discuss with each other.
So you know what makes me think it's lame? In the entire classroom, of all the students, not one person turned to him when he presented it and said, "Dude, like on Star Trek?"
Really? A whole class of college students and not one of them was like, "Hahaha, Star Trek."
Then Chick and Classmate team up together to beat the fake test - as in the way Jim Kirk beat the fake test on Star Trek. They don't accept failure. The test is a cheat. So they can cheat too.
Am I upset about cheating? Nooooo. I just don't know who they think they are.
They are NOT Jim Kirk.
Who know who is Jim Kirk?
JIM KIRK! That's who.
But despite my above crazy rant about Capt. Kirk, I'm enjoying Hellcats more than I thought I would. I figured by now I would have given up on the plot and just be watching the cheers and shit. But I find I actually want to watch it like the day after it airs. That's a pretty quick turn-around for me.
So, in sum, still enjoying Hellcats - but Chick and Classmate are NOT James Tiberius Kirk.
And at the very end of the episode, Jensen Ackles' voice came on and reminded me not to forget to watch the premiere of Supenatural on Friday.
And I said, "Okay, okay, Jensen. I won't forget," because that's just how I roll. <--how I roll = speaking to Jensen Ackles through my television in a really high-pitched squeaky voice that I can't seem to control.
Cuz that's how I roll.
