Updates and Stuffs.
Well, The Nephew didn't make it home yesterday, again. We ended up only getting about 5 inches or so, but there was a inch of ice on top of that.

His mother called to say not to bring him, because they live way out in the country. Her car was so caked in ice, she couldn't get it out of the driveway. A tree came down in their yard. And they lost power. Which means heat too. So she drove what should have been twenty minutes to a friend's house, but it took her over an hour.

So The Nephew stayed here for the day - (Day Three for those of you who are counting). My sister took him the five blocks to Target because he didn't have any clean clothes to wear (he outgrew all the ones in his drawer in my dresser, it seems). Then at 5:30 he went across town to my mom's house for the night.

Apparently he was a little nervous about spending the night there, but was reassured that my mom sounds like my sister. After laying in the living room in the dark, he calls out -
Nephew: Grandma?
My Mom: Yes?
N: I forgot what your voice sounds like.
MM: Do you remember now?
N: Yes. You sound like Aunt J. <--that's my sister.
MM: Is that a good thing?
N: Oh, yes.

He is home now - (well, he is with his mom at her friend's house because they still don't have power at their house.)

Before he left, we played more X-Men action figures. Sabertooth was throwing everyone around and Cyclops was yelling at him to stop, that they were all suppose to be fighting the aliens together. Sabertooth (being played by The Nephew) declared that he couldn't stop himself because the aliens put a bug inside him that was controlling his actions. I don't know where The Nephew came up with this idea but every good genre show always has a least one episode of having their actions controlled by a bug of some kind. I was impressed. Now as long as he doesn't start using this as an excuse when he gets in trouble. ;)

In other news - I got rid of the Trojan on my computer. I don't know how. I unhooked my sister's external harddrive that I was trying to download music from. Then I left it and at some point my anti-virus did its usual run through. On a whim, I tried to delete the file that the trojan had attached itself too - even though before it kept telling me that it was in use and couldn't be deleted. And suddenly it deleted it. I cleaned-up, defrag-ed and ran the virus scan and everything was good. So either the external harddrive was what was using the file and blocking it from being deleted or my anti-virus program figured out how to get rid of it - (when I checked the website they said it was a new trojan and that they were working on a solution and would update as soon as they had one).

The teddy bear that The BFF bought the cats for Valentine's Day has been dragged around the living room and now they have stuffed it under The BFF's chair in the living room, in case she needs a snack later.

In TV News -

Who saw H50 last night? HOMG, YOU GUYS! Steve went to Danny's family dinner and met his brother and I can't describe it the way it deserves to be described that totally explains how DANNY TOOK STEVE TO MEET HIS FAMILY!!!

And on Glee - OMG PUCK/LAUREN! Everyone has been all, "When will we get Kurt/Blaine?" and I have been all, "Who cares? When will we get Puck/Lauren?" and then WE DID! (Okay, I'd go for Kurt/Blaine too). If you had told me there would be a pairing that I wanted more than Puck/Rachel, I would have laughed at you. And what is with me and Glee and het pairings? I mean, it's ridiculous. I am actually torn between which het pairing I want. What's up with that and who am I? Also, I never said it back when, but I am so happy to see Puck and Finn back together again. Boys need boys in their lives. Their fist-bump made me so incredibly happy. Now I want fic about Artie, Finn and Puck all hanging out at Finn's house and being boys. Why do I keep wanting gen Glee fic? Once again, who am I?

Also, I CAN'T WAIT FOR TONIGHT'S EPISODE!! I mean, they are having a SLEEPOVER!! HOMG! It's like stolen from fanfic - but what is Glee if not one big giant fanfic with fanmix soundtrack included?

I AM SO EXCITE FOR TONIGHT'S GLEE, YOU PEOPLES!! It's been awhile since I've been so excited over Glee.

Okay, I think that is all for now.

Wait - today The BFF is taking the first half of her Bar Exam - (the second half will be tomorrow). I wanted to write her some Dean/Cas as a reward, but my shoulder has been bothering me so much lately - (it is better than it was a week ago, but I don't want to push my luck) - so instead I thought I would post some older stuff I wrote for her, you know like in her honor, since she will be too busy to actually read LJ for like a week anyway - (sadly after her exam is done, she has massive family things to do, instead of what she should be doing, which is SLEEPING).

So, fic later? Okay then.

That is all.

Your nephew is SO awesome, seriously, he should start writing his own genre show - with your help of course. I would watch it.
I should go see my artist!nephew (and other family) in a week or two, if all goes well. And I just realized recently: he's going to high school next year! Ffff, he's growing up faster than I am... :/

I'm glad you fixed the virus on your computer, bb, I was kinda worried about that.

And, GLEE!! I've been loving it a lot lately, but I got spoiled for upcoming Glee today - not sure what ep - and I was surprised to say the least, but we'll see; it'll definitely be early morning watchings for me *nods*

he should start writing his own genre show

I know, right? Remember when The Nephew did that reenactment of Supernatural - "We have to go now!" No, we have to kill this ghost, baby brother! - Kid cracks me up.

I didn't realize your artist!nephew was that old. I hope they have a good art program in his high school. Mine, sadly, did not.

I was very worried about the Trojan too. I just started to figure out how to use this damn computer - can't afford for it to crash either. Whew.

Thank you for not telling me the Glee spoilers - I don't even like to watch the musical numbers online ahead of time (they are better in context with the show, don't you think?) I really enjoyed the last episode and this one we just had this week too. I feel like the musical numbers are not quite as good as they were last season, but then last season everything was shiny and new, so...

I have lots of things to say about Glee - I should do a Glee post so I can have a proper discussion about it. Right now I need to go talk about NCIS:LA because Stanley from Jericho was on it and I don't even know what the plot was because STANLEY WAS ON MY TV. He is a tall tree and I am an inappropriate monkey who would climb him and I'm pretty sure he knows it.
(Look up the number): world-turtletringic on February 25th, 2011 09:54 pm (UTC)
I do remember that! And it totally proves my point :D

My artist nephew is 12. TWELVE. And yeah, he's going to have to choose a school soon; I'm really curious what he's going to do (the dutch educational system is too complicated to explain, but there's quite a lot of different options to consider).

Good thing it solved itself then!

I wouldn't tell anyone any spoilers without checking first, dw. And I don't hang out in Glee fandom at all, so me even catching a spoiler before hand is extremely rare; I just came across a pic of the rachel/blaine kiss (and was appropriately "WUT?!" about it, I think). And I would never seek out the songs before hand either; context is important to my. As is the emotional impact (or not :P). Some of my favorite Glee songs were from this season though; most notably "Only the good die young" and "Dog days are over" - LOVE those.

Yes! You should do a Glee post, because I rarely talk about Glee with anyone anymore... But Jericho! You know Law and Order; LA? Because not only is Jake - ok, Skeet - the lead detective there, but in the ep I saw last week (one of the first of the series, I think?) the killer was Eric. Which I found very amusing.
I saw Stanley in something else recently too... something my mom watches; Grey's Anatomy maybe? I miss Jericho. I really do.
dodger_sister: jerichododger_sister on February 26th, 2011 04:41 am (UTC)
Oh, he is TWELVE! See in America, you don't start high school until you are 14...I thought he was about 10 though.

the dutch educational system is too complicated to explain, but there's quite a lot of different options to consider

Yeah, our school options suck. We are getting better now with charter schools and all. When I was in school though, we had very few options. I was unbelievably miserable at my public school - and our options were the catholic school (which we couldn't afford) or the other option, the school with ex-cons and girls with lots of kids. I chose the juvenile deliquent school out of, you know, having no other options. I was suprisingly happy there though.

Still, even now, if you don't have money, you can't really afford anything but the local public school.

See, someone saw the clip of Rachel saying she needed to live more and experience things and then running off to find Puck - and they wrote up a spoiler that said it would be Puck/Lauren vs Puck/Rachel and I was all, "OMG WHAT DO I CHOOSE?" and then it turned out to be wrong, so...even when I get spoiled, I luckily don't get actually spoiled.

I will do a thread!

ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG was my FAVORITEST THING EVER!! I love that song and Puck doing Billy Joel was like OMG, I DIED!

I have heard a rumor that Skeet is getting the boot from L&O:UK. Have you heard anything about that? I have not watched it yet, I wasn't actually aware of it until like a week ago when I heard Skeet was getting fired and I was like, "From what?" Apparently the show tested well, but his character did not. This may all be incorrect info though, so...

I love Jericho like a crazy hardcore person. I now have icons! See my icon!!! Stanley is better than Jake. It was a long running argument with the now ex-cousin-in-law.

What the heck is your icon from - don't mock my world-turtle - ??
(Look up the number): world-turtletringic on March 2nd, 2011 01:52 am (UTC)
Yeah, no, that's what I realized after your last comment; over here you go to primary school at 4 & then high school at around 12 yo.

We do have kind of a lot of options; especially with the levels of education, and it makes the system quite complicated, but it's good that it exists. (*mumbles* now if the government would stop trying to ruin it...). Doesn't mean that a lot of people here go for the "easy" option as well though. like my other nephew; the school in the next village, instead of the far better one a city over - its frustrating when family doesn't worry as much about education as you do /o\

Ahaha, yeah, I can see where the mistake came from, but good thing you weren't spoiled after all, right? :)

Do a thread! :D

And YES. it was SO GOOD. *Listening to it again now*

I don't actually follow the new L&O's - not UK, because it's horrible, not LA because... it's boring. - But the new criminal intent? I DO, I DO LOVE IT SO ;)
It would be a shame if Skeet got fired though; has he ever finished a series the normal way? D:

I saw your icon!! And I really need to rewatch Jericho sometime... maybe I can convice my mom to do a marathon after the rebuilding starts up again *ponders*

And OMG, you don't remember the world turtle and how it must not be mocked?! 5x19; Hammer of the Gods, my darling... best line ever in an SPN ep. - original "art" post here: http://tringic.livejournal.com/7162.html

Glad everybody is alright. Winter weather is so sucky.

Yay! You got rid of the trojan! (hehe I said trojan)

Grr, won't be able to watch H5O till saturday. Stupid overtime all week is eating up any free time.
dodger_sister: weatherdodger_sister on February 25th, 2011 09:27 pm (UTC)
The weather got mildly better on Wednesday and then got worse again yesterday. It seems okay today though. /knock on virtual wood/ Seriously, local schools were closed three days this week. At this rate, they will have so many makeup days, they will be in school until July.

(hehe I said trojan)

I know, I giggled when I typed it - I was all, "Stop using a capital letter on it, it looks like you are talking about condoms!" lol Yep, we are 12 yr old boys.

Oh - Danny/Steve were on fire this week. Not enough Kono for my liking but after we got her kicking that one guy's ass awhile back, I think that will hold me over for a bit. You''ll enjoy it when you get some tv time.

I just love how Steve drops everything to go help Danny out when he has a family issue. "Oh, Danny, you in a bind with your brother? Well, I'll just leave this investigation into who is murdering children and come over to comfort you." Kiss Kiss.

God, I love them. This show is the slashiest show I have ever seen.

OMG! That's hysterical and TRUE!!! You said it perfectly. But remember when Steve was in the middle of a rescue in the forest and he took time to talk Danny down from killing Step-Stan? Steve cannot say 'no' when it comes to Danny. They are so into each other. It's like that line from Mallrats - "you two are so retarded for each other."

I know, I didn't think anyone could be slashier than G and Sam on NCIS:LA, but I was wrong!
Trigger Warning: Lifematchboximpala on February 25th, 2011 10:44 pm (UTC)
Yes! When I wrote that I was trying to remember the other OBVIOUS incident where Steve basically abandoned his job to support Danny. Now I remember that scene -- Steve using a rope to haul a log off the ground with one hand and holding his cell phone in the other while he tries to talk Danny down in hushed tones so as not to alert the evil killer he is trying to trap.

Honestly, it was ridiculous. I'm sure they got letters.

It is as if they are in some kind of competition for whose show could be the slashiest.
dodger_sister: ncis ladodger_sister on February 25th, 2011 11:56 pm (UTC)
Idk what just happened. Your words inspired me and so I stole them and put them in a fic and then...um.

Chris grimaced at the TV. “Wankers,” he declared.

Jay snorted. “When did you get British all of a sudden?”

“Shut it.”

Jay shrugged. “Alright.”

They stared at the TV for a few more moments, watched as Alex O’Loughlin tried to use a rope to haul a log off the ground with one hand and hold his cell phone in the other while he tried to talk his partner down in hushed tones so as not to alert the evil killer he was trying to trap.

Because Hawaii Five-O thought they had the most co-dependant partners on TV.

Which would not do at all.

“Wankers,” Chris reiterated.

“We need a plan,” Jay said and went to get them more beer.

“Are they seriously…like seriously, trying to out gay us?”

Alex turned to look at Scott with a raised eyebrow. “Out gay us?”

“As in be more gay than us,” Scott clarified and waved his hand at the TV.

“Huh,” Alex said as he watched LL Cool J tell his partner how much motorcycle duty sucked because he missed their witty banter.

“That’s true though,” Scott said. “When we ride our bikes, we never get to have our good talks.”

Alex scrunched up his eyes, little crinkles forming across his forehead. “Danny and Steve don’t have motorcycles. Chin does.”

“Not our characters, dumbass. Us.”

They watched the two men on the screen flirt shamelessly, - there was no other word for it - before Scott threw his hands up in disgust.

“They can’t win this! We need a plan.”

“You have got to be kidding me,” Chris said.

“They play hardcore,” Jay admitted.

“Well, G can’t take Sam to meet his brother and have family dinner,” Chris added in disgust. “G is a freaking orphan! That’s hardball, baby.”

“Guess we have no choice now,” Jay said, resigned.

Chris stopped and turned to look at his friend. “Say what now?”

Jay shrugged. “We got to go for tongue, baby.”

“Like hell we do.”

“Do you want to let Surf and Shorty win this bitch?”

Chris muttered something under his breath, but shook his head.

“Great. Let’s practice.”

Chris groaned in defeat.

The End

hahahahahah love

We need to set up some sort of scoreboard for WC, NCIS:LA, H5O and SPN. Maybe that will be my weekend project.
dodger_sister: ncis ladodger_sister on February 26th, 2011 04:19 am (UTC)
Thanks! I think my brain cracked itself for a second, lol.

How would you rate their levels of gayness? Hmmm, it would be unfair to do a poll each week to see who was the slashiest in this week's episode - especially since WC doesn't run regular seasons. And certain people /cough/me/cough/ don't watch that show. I know, I'm lame!

Well, if you need help remembering their extreme moments of slash, I'm your girl!
