Firstly, The BFF would like me to tell you all her favorite story from our Roadtrip - (yep, I say Roadtrip with a capital letter) - in which we went through Quebec and no one spoke English. We were walking into a Harvey's - (basically their version of Burger King only better) - and this man runs up to open the door for us - (because Canadians are nice, even the French ones). Then, because it is polite to thank people, and because Merci is one word we do know in French, The BFF responded with a "Merci." The man then proceeds to try to have a full-on conversation with her in French. She just smiled and nodded. Also, ordering from the 16yr old behind the counter, who didn't speak English, was an experience. It involved hand gestures.
And now the rest of my story...
So, after buying presents for all of the world, we went back and put on our dresses - (may I say The BFF looked stunning) - and went to the wedding. It was not easy to get me inside, so kudos to liptonrm for getting me across the ankle-deep gravel in those high heels of hers. The wedding was lovely. The grooms walked down the aisle hand-in-hand and they both cried when they said their vows. They had a beautiful harpist who played during the ceremony and then again during our dinner.
There were so few of us, we had our own little banquet room and we got to order direct off the Inn's menu and the grooms paid for our meal. I had a delicious salmon - (apparently I quite like salmon) - and we had some good conversations. We got a few compliments; The Bff on her shoes and me on my tattoo and my boobs - sadly, all the boob-compliments were from gay men, but I'll take it! I drank two - (no, that's a lot for me, I am not a drinker) - strawberry cream martinis - (delicious). I was incredibly flushed and the everything was a little sway-ey. We walked back to the room, and the gravel was all gravely and The BFF was all, "If you go down, I'm not gonna catch you in these heels," but I stayed upright. Go me! Then I felt the urge to take off my dress and sit around in my underwear - (I'm still not sure why). Thankfully, The BFF didn't mind, as she was in the awesome hottub bath.
After she went to sleep, my friend and his husband came up to the room, since they figured they wouldn't see me in the morning and we had another excellent long visit. I saw more of them than I had anticipated I would. Of course, this sadly means that after ten years together, they have forgotten what they were suppose to do on their wedding night.
We left on Sunday and drove an hour to meet my brother and his family. We were at the mall, so we went in a toy store to buy presents for hiyacynth's son and suddenly I heard my brother's voice. I looked up and he was there with the 18 month old. He put her down and she ran at me with her arms out, screeching. It was adorable. She is like a whole little person now, you guys! With a whole attitude to go with it. Idk where she got the Superstar Attitude, not from either of her parents, but lord that girl is a ham. We went to the lobby and read her the book I'd bought her. Apparently, she loves books! She is def a girl in this family then! After that, we went and had lunch and a really good visit. Despite it adding a few more hours to our day of driving, I am really glad we met up with them. I also got to hold the new nephew, and am still the only person in the family to do so! Ha!
We spent the remainder of the day talking about Dark Alec and how lame Logan getting the no-touching-virus was and how I refuse to call him anything but Robot!Legs - (am still unclear as to why he sometimes had robot-legs) - and how Alec wins everything and my undying love for Joshua, even though he is a dogboy. That night we watched some of Star Wars while we were falling asleep and The BFF seems to think I am strange because I find Ackbar attractive. Come on, he is a glorious shade of red, he's got those big beautiful eyes and his butt totally looks cute in that white uniform. Plus, total BAMF, baby! Also we talked about how my first crush was on Chewbacca and then I started going for Han Solo and well...Chewbacca + Han Solo and now somehow I want to marry Jayne Cobb. It makes sense.
The next day we just mostly talked about how we missed the cats and were ready to be home, so we could catch up on our TV. I had to find out what was happening on So You Think You Can Dance, after all.
Was that long enough? Did I miss anything else, liptonrm?
Oh, you want pictures?
I know, you all want baby pictures and wedding pictures, but...I have only been doing this LJ thing for a year. I'm still not comfortable putting up pictures of myself on the internet. And I certainly won't put up pictures of other people, because it's weird to be all putting them on my secret journal that is so secret I won't let them read it.
Another one from downtown Stowe...
And this is our bedroom. Jared and Jensen could fit into that bed together, don't you think?
Steve and Danny could probably not fit into that bath together, but Dom and Elijah maybe could.
Why, yes, we are watching The Daily Show while on vacation. Because news doesn't stop happening just because we are on vacation. It doesn't even stop happening when Jon is on vacation.
The view from our balcony. That is unreal, isn't it?
See the little plaza with the mini-tower-esque thing on the top? That is the Irish Hippie restaurant.
And that concludes my epic series. I hope you enjoyed. I now have Zombies to kill.
ETA: Just thought I should give proper credit to The BFF for the amazing pictures. She's quite handy with the camera.
